Jennifer Jason Leigh (born Jennifer Leigh Morrow on February 5, 1962, in Los Angeles) is an American actress known for her intense and versatile roles in film, television, and theater. She began her acting career in the 1970s and gained early recognition with her performance as Stacy in Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982). She received critical acclaim for roles in Last Exit to Brooklyn (1989), Miami Blues (1990), Backdraft (1991), Single White Female (1992), and The Hudsucker Proxy (1994). Her portrayal of Dorothy Parker in Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle (1994) earned her a Golden Globe nomination. In 2001, she co-wrote and directed The Anniversary Party. Leigh was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for her performance as Daisy Domergue in Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight (2015). Other notable works include Anomalisa, Atypical, Annihilation, Possessor, and Fargo Season 5. On stage, she made her Broadway debut in Cabaret (1998) and was Drama Desk-nominated for Abigail’s Party. She is the daughter of actor Vic Morrow and screenwriter Barbara Turner. She was married to filmmaker Noah Baumbach from 2005 to 2013 and has one son.
