She began acting as a child, appearing in The Piano (1993) and various local productions. From 2009 to 2017, she played recurring roles in Power Rangers RPM, Once Upon a Time, and TV films. McIver gained international recognition as the lead in The CW’s iZombie (2015–2019), portraying Olivia “Liv” Moore. Since 2021, she stars as Samantha in the CBS comedy Ghosts. She has also appeared in several Netflix Christmas films and independent movies.
