Sitara Hewitt (born December 27, 1981, in Elora, Ontario) is a Canadian-American actress, model, and wellness coach. Daughter of a Pakistani mother and Welsh father—both university professors - she grew up partly in the Himalayas before settling in Ontario. Trained in ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and modern dance, her screen debut was as a dancer in Bollywood/Hollywood (2002). She gained prominence as Dr. Rayyan Hamoudi on Little Mosque on the Prairie (2007–2012). Sitara has co-hosted shows like You Bet Your Ass, appeared on The Young and the Restless and All Rise, led in Hallmark films, and served as spokesperson for Hughesnet. She's also a meditation and wellness entrepreneur, fluent in English and Urdu (semi-fluent in Balti), a U.S. citizen, and a former wife of actor Jessie Pavelka (one son, Rowan, b. 2010).
