She became known through television roles in telenovelas like Alta Estação, Chamas da Vida, Império and Um Lugar ao Sol, and also starred in HBO’s Alice. Her performance as Elis Regina in the film Elis was critically acclaimed and won her major awards. Aside from acting she has published a book of poetry, Humana Flor, and remains a prominent figure in Brazilian entertainment.
