Alice Panikian, born on May 23, 1985, in Sofia, is a Bulgarian-Canadian journalist, TV host, and former international beauty titleholder, best known for being crowned Miss Universe Canada 2006. Standing just over six feet tall, she made history as the tallest major national titleholder in Canadian pageant history and quickly drew attention for her poise, intelligence, and strong on-camera presence.

In 2006, Panikian represented Canada at the Miss Universe competition, finishing an impressive sixth overall—remaining the last Canadian finalist until 2016. That same year, she achieved another milestone by becoming the first Canadian ever to win the Reinado Internacional del Café (International Queen of Coffee) in Manizales, Colombia. At Miss Universe Canada, she also earned the “Miss Photogenic” and “Best in Swimsuit” awards.

Beyond pageantry, Alice Panikian has built a career grounded in communication and storytelling. She studied English, Communications, and broadcast journalism at York University and now resides in Toronto, where she continues to pursue work in journalism and television. Of Bulgarian and Armenian descent, she immigrated to Canada at age five. When she’s not on camera, she enjoys writing short stories, practicing yoga, and playing volleyball—a creative and athletic balance that reflects her versatility.
